Traditional Food Project- Fort Resolution & UOttawa

Author // Fort Resolution

December 18, 2012

Hey all, wishing you a Merry one!

And indeed, the update includes the supplies are in and a net has been set by the High School students. Along with Harvey Mandeville - our elder, and Mr. Ted Moes - our teacher, the net has been set just this side of Jack Knocks Island, west of Mission Island beside Fort Resolution. As a tester net, we will let it sit for 24 hours before checking it again to make sure of the location success. The plan is to have it in the water for a couple of days to start building up our fish supply. We will then begin smoking the fish shortly after returning from the Christmas Break. Of which, we will also reset the net to continue the project. In all, onward and upward.

Cheers again and......Merry Christmas!

Peace.

November 20th, 2012

Wishing you well this afternoon! And indeed, things are running along fine from our end. I am in the process of making our order for nets and supplies. Added, I have talked with a few supports to commit to our project -- they are in favor.

OK, up and onward. We should be looking at getting on the ice within the next 2-3 weeks. If all goes to plan we will begin our first smoked fish shortly afterwards and completed the first round by Christmas break. As promised, we will record and document as much of the process as we can.

Good. Take care and talk soon....and thank you again!!!!!!!!!
